New Year update

As we start 2019, the construction of the new village hall is entering a new phase. With the scaffolding removed, the size and shape of our fantastic new building has been revealed. During January and February there will be contractors busy fitting out the inside of the building, so please bear with us as deliveries are made and there’s a lot of activity at the site. This will be a particularly busy period as we prepare the hall ready for opening in the Spring.

We aim to open the building for use on 1st April 2019 and are now actively working with interest clubs, societies, classes and groups to allocate regular slots. We hope from spring to welcome back our play group, and offer a range of classes from Yoga to Zumba, with potential for specialist dance classes.

We are working on a new online booking system, which is being tested in advance of the hall being open for business.

On Saturday 23rd March the hall will be open for the community to view the build, explore the facilities and talk to the committee about potential use. The event will be promoted more widely in the coming weeks. The open day will be between 10am and 3pm.

The new programme for the Village Hall includes a Tuesday morning Hub, where people can drop in, have a coffee and be sociable. We expect a number of informal groups, activities and support agencies will use this as a focal point to engage and reach people in our community.
